Can I return a Walmart online order to a store?
Usually yes, and it is normally the faster option: items bought on walmart.com can generally be taken to any store, except for some marketplace items that have to go back to the seller by mail.
Why in store is faster
Mailing a return means the refund waits on a carrier scan and then on processing at the warehouse. A store return is processed in front of you, which removes days from the wait and removes the risk of a parcel going missing on the way back.
Start it in the app first
- Open the order and begin the return so the barcode is ready.
- Take the item, the barcode, and the card you paid with.
- Bring the accessories and any packaging you still have.
The marketplace exception
Not everything on walmart.com is sold by Walmart. Third-party marketplace items follow the seller's terms and often have to be mailed back. The return flow in your account tells you which one you are dealing with before you drive anywhere.
