Can I return opened electronics to Target?
Yes, within the electronics window, which is shorter than Target's headline return period, and Apple products are shorter again, so the date matters more here than the fact you opened the box.
Opened is fine, late is not
Electronics are expected to be opened and tried. The thing that stops these returns is almost always the calendar, because electronics sit in a shorter bracket than the general merchandise window most people have in their heads.
Use the countdown at the top of this site and select the electronics window rather than the standard one.
Bring all of it
- Every cable, adapter, remote, and manual that came in the box.
- The card you paid with, even if you have the receipt.
- The device signed out and factory reset.
What is not coming back
Opened movies, music, video games, and software are generally not returnable once the seal is broken. An exchange for the same title is sometimes possible when the disc itself is faulty.
