Can I return something to Target after 90 days?
Check whether it is a Target owned brand first: those typically carry a full year rather than the standard window, and outside of that a defective item still has the manufacturer warranty route.
The own-brand exception
Target's own labels usually carry a much longer return window than national brands. If the item is one of Target's in-house brands, being past the standard window may not matter at all. Check the label before you assume you are too late.
Everything else
- A RedCard purchase may have had extra time on top of the standard window.
- A holiday purchase may have been on the extended window, which runs into the new year.
- A faulty item goes down the manufacturer warranty route, which typically outlasts any return window.
If none of those apply
Resale is usually the better use of your time than escalation. Some credit cards also include extended return protection that pays out when the retailer will not, so check the benefits guide for the card you paid with.
